ESSIAC:  The Secrets of Rene Caisse's Herbal Pharmacy

ESSIAC -- The Secrets of Rene Caisse's Herbal Pharmacy, 2001, by Sheila Snow and Mali Klein is the most complete source for information about Rene Caisse and her lifelong struggle to get Essiac tea recognized by the medical establishment.

This book is the number one source for the history of Essiac and it provides documentation as to the correct Essiac tea formula.  This documentation also corrects much of the disinformation about Essiac tea

Sheila Snow knew Rene Caisse personally and she was given access to her papers.  Mali Klein is founder of Clouds Trust, based in Hampshire, England, which conducts research into Essiac.

The correct Essiac tea formula was confirmed by both Mary McPherson and Dr Gary Glum.  Mary McPherson was Rene's best friend for 43 years.  Mary learned how to make Essiac tea directly from Rene Caisse.  The text of the sworn affidavit Mary McPherson made and recorded in 1994 is included in the Essiac Secrets book.

"ESSIAC--THE SECRETS OF RENE CAISSE'S HERBAL PHARMACY expands the vision to develop the research and to reveal what we have discovered of other formulae and herbs Rene used or may have used alongside the basic four.

"This includes previously unpublished material concerning Rene's Kidney Pill formula and the sheep sorrel solution she used either topically, as an enema, douche, mouthwash and by injection, alongside the basic four-herb decoction during the Bracebridge clinic years.

"The archive has also revealed hitherto unknown information concerning the roles played by some of the more prominent figures involved with Rene and Essiac, particularly during the last years of her life.

"In addition, we have included information on the basic science of cancer, the related chemical and radiation therapies and the importance of maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle to enhance the general understanding of the possibly palliative and remedial effects of the Essiac formula."

Essiac Secrets also covers the other herbs that Rene Caisse used to treat her cancer patients.

The book concludes with selected case histories and a list of international resources related to Essiac.

It was published in 2001 and is no longer in print.  One can usually find copies of the book on the internet.
