Ingri Cassel of Humbleweed.net, Michelle Mandolf of Essiac Northwest, Huckleberry and many others have contributed their time and effort to the Essiac Circle of Friends over the past two decades. We are a natural society of like-minded people continuing traditional native herbal healing in the spirit of the Seven Fires Prophecy.
The Essiac Circle of Friends is a cooperative effort to provide the highest quality Essiac Tea herbs on the planet. [See ordering page]. We are the people who plant, grow, harvest and supply these high-quality herbs to those in need.
We are Essiac Tea specialists who have thoroughly researched and documented the true Essiac Tea formula that was developed by Rene M. Caisse over a 50-year period. We have decades of experience using, growing and crafting other herbal teas as well. Due to the increasing demand for high-quality Essiac Tea herbs, we are having to work extra hard to keep up with that demand.
We are especially focused on growing the highest quality certified organic Sheep Sorrel Leaf & Root which is no longer grown in America. Sheep Sorrel is the key herb in Essiac Tea that detoxes cancer and other toxins from the body. Essiac Tea is only as effective as the herbs in it. Farm machinery cannot weed or harvest Sheep Sorrel properly so it must be done by hand. Therefore, it is very labor-intensive and so that contributes to the extra cost of high-quality herbs. Currently, Sheep Sorrel is imported from Bulgaria and Croatia and it is falsely labeled certified organic. The Sheep Sorrel is not even green. The photo below shows our highest quality Special Blend Essiac Tea Herbs and as you can see the Sheep Sorrel is a vibrant green.
Also, nearly all Essiac and herb companies do not include Sheep Sorrel Roots which are “very essential” and are an integral part of the Essiac Tea formula according to Rene Caisse. In the two pictures above on the left, you can see us digging up Sheep Sorrel Roots which, of course, adds to the cost of our herbs.
Additionally, we must hand clip the Sheep Sorrel tops from the roots in order to provide precise percentages of Sheep Sorrel Roots. We offer Regular 10% and Extra-Strength 25% Sheep Sorrel Roots. The picture below shows some of our members clipping the roots from the tops.

OUR PURPOSE
Nurse Rene Caisse never achieved her lifelong goal of making Essiac an approved medical treatment for cancer due to the suppression by the medical industry. So she gave up on her “miracle” ever manifesting in her home country of Canada.
She therefore stated in “I Was Canada’s Cancer Nurse“:
“In my heart, I still hope and pray for a miracle–but, in my mind I see only closed doors. The disappointment is a tragedy that has made my last years sad and frustrating: I am grateful that God has given me the strength to retain my sanity.
“Perhaps some other country will have the courage to find and bring help to suffering humanity, though I had hoped it would be my own beloved Canada, or our neighbour, the United States of America.”
Therefore, the Essiac Circle of Friends has been working to preserve Rene Caisse’s legacy for over two decades right here in America. We have been accurately documenting Rene Caisse’s Essiac Tea formula, recipe and history to help insure that it will be correctly followed now and into the future.

* BUYER BEWARE! Most Essiac companies and herb suppliers are now obtaining Sheep Sorrel leaf from Bulgaria and Croatia and it is dead plant material and not even green! Therefore, most of the Essiac sold in the US now has little medicinal value for cancer patients. We are concerned that this may eventually give quality Essiac Tea an undeserved reputation for being ineffective against cancer. This may also give false hope for cancer patients.
This is why we place so much attention on how we grow our certified organic herbs and the extra effort and care we place on quality, even though our Essiac Tea Herbs cost significantly more than other Essiac tea providers. As the old adage goes: “You get what you pay for.” *

We do not sell nor are we associated with the trademarked (TM) or registered (R) “ESSIAC” products that are sold by other companies in Canada and the US. We only sell the herbs so that people can make Rene Caisse’s tea in their own homes. Rene Caisse never registered, patented or trademarked “Essiac” which was simply her last name spelled backwards and was originally derived from a traditional native American herbal remedy for cancer. The word “Essiac” was in common usage in the 1930s, decades before anyone tried to corner the market by “registering” or “trademarking” the word “Essiac”. Furthermore, we only use the “Essiac” formula which Rene Caisse’s best friend, Mary McPherson, officially entered into the public domain in a sworn affidavit in 1994 in Bracebridge, Ontario. This formula uses Turkey rhubarb root which is much more pleasant tasting than the Indian rhubarb products on the market (which is why Rene Caisse switched to Turkey rhubarb in her final Essiac tea formula). The HealthFreedom.info website has posted Mary McPherson’s “Essiac” formula affidavit here. This is the formula we use.
Twenty years ago HealthFreedom.info was the first website to obtain and publish on the internet a certified copy of Mary McPherson’s Essiac formula affidavit from the Town of Bracebridge, Ontario, thus settling the controversy over what Rene Caisse’s true Essiac Tea formula was.
We include sheep sorrel roots in all our Essiac Tea products at precise percentages. The percentages refer to the ratio of sheep sorrel root to the total sheep sorrel content in the formula.
